Ace Hotel, NEW YORK

One of my good friends is currently in New York. Her being there has thrown me into a tantrum exponentially full of jealousy, rage and tears.

The thing about New York is that everyone is loud. People are always shouting to you about something. On the sidewalk, down in the subway. Whilst they shout to you about their political and religious opinions, people also shout about what they are planning on doing that day, what they just had for breakfast, how crap Starbucks is and why ‘New York is the worst city in the world because no matter how hard you look there are no toilets!’. (Curious, and somewhat true. Does everyone just shit in the middle of Central Park?). In fact whilst at the base of the Statue of Liberty on our chilly second morning there, some unhappy man even started shouting to me about how any second now, he was going to blow it all up. I tried not to take it too personally.
This was the thing that I adored most about the city though, people just talk to you and don’t really give a damn what you think in the end. All in all, It shook me up and spat me out, in the best and most curious way possible.

So, If you're going bang your hands on the floor whilst kicking and screaming over a city it might as well be New York, and if you want to do the most damage to your little fists in the most stylish way, get angry on the floor of the Ace Hotel. These are a few polaroid shots I dug up from my time there last winter. You can find them also Ace Hotel's Blog-Everything is Going to Be Alright
